8/1 - Corps to Bourg d'Oisans + l'Alpe d'Huez

What an extraordinary day. After a brisk morning ride to Bourg d'Oisans, we set up our tents and rested for an evening ascent of the Alpe d'Huez, a famous climb in le Tour de France. It's twenty-one switchbacks and up, up, up. There was paint all over the road encouraging on the best of the best. The cool evening air made for great climbing conditions.

Glory Glory Hallelujah! We raise our glasses to the two of ya for completing what must have been two VERY STEEP heart-pounding climbs! In all the best trips, there comes a moment that stands for all other ones so Viva L'ALpe D'Huez! Viva Le Mont Ventoux! As you move into the Swiss Alps, shout with glee when you descend into the willages that'll give you cheese and chocolate. Stay safe and strong. Love and many hugs from this side of the Atlantic, NY Mom
